Atchison Heller Tops Last Impressive HERS Energy Rating Score

The HERS (Home Energy Rating System Index) energy rating shows a home’s energy efficiency. The lower the score, the better. Low index score homes are more affordable, comfortable and energy efficient. Standard new homes typically score 100 on the index scale. For example, a home with a HERS index score of 70 is 30% more efficient than a standard new home while a home with a score of 130 is 30% less energy efficient than a standard new home. Home efficiency is very important to Atchison Heller, and we are always looking to improve our techniques and materials—a previous home project resulted in a HERS index score of 53. Recently, Atchison Heller scored 50 with a recent project, meaning that home is 50% more efficient than a standard new home.  Remember, the lower the score, the more energy efficient is the home!
